But what about the Buddhist world....

"Over the years... we saw China’s 'purple curtain' open... and many were saved. We saw the communist 'iron curtain' open when the Berlin wall came down. We’re now seeing the Muslim’s 'bamboo curtain' come down and many are being saved. But what about the Buddhist world which affects millions all through Asia. Well, God is bigger than Buddha! We continue to sow seed and pray for a Holy Spirit breakthrough in Japan."

Manno Kids

At Manno Christ Church we had a wonderful time serving children, and some adults, through "Manno Kids."

Naho was the key facilitator, sharing the gospel, music and crafts. I taught some English.

For lunch we cooked some hot dogs- a new experience for many. Pastor Nakamura is on the left.

We also enjoyed some ice cream and watermelon.

Luke 18:15-17, "People were also bringing babies to Jesus to have him touch them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."

I like to hear the Gospel.

Asked about the sermons of his pastor Phineas D. Gurley, New York Avenue Presbyterian Church, President Abraham Lincoln replied, "I like Gurley. When I go to church, I like to hear the Gospel."

Romans 1:16-17, "I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."

The truth of hell

“When the heart no longer feels the truth of hell, the gospel passes from good news to just news. The intensity of joy is blunted and the heart-spring of love is dried up.” John Piper

The Resurrection Mural.....

Ron DiCianni has an amazing gift of reflecting spiritual truth on canvas. The above painting is Spiritual Warfare. As a missionary serving in Japan and father of 3 children, I do know the feeling of the father praying over his child.

DiCianni has an amazing the Resurrection Mural that is being displayed at Museum of Biblical Art, Dallas, Texas. You've got to take a look at it and listen to his explanation.

Grant, O Lord, that I may join myself to Your will.....

Grant, O Lord, that I may join myself to Your will; that though I am sick, I may glorify You in my sickness. Without suffering, I cannot enter into glory; nor did You, my redeemer, attain glory without suffering.

And, since nothing is pleasing to God the Father unless it is offered through You, I unite my will with Yours, my pain with the pain You suffered. Let my suffering become Your suffering; unite me with Yourself, fill me with Your grace, and with Your Holy Spirit.

Enter into my heart, into my soul, into my suffering. Even though I have had so small a share in Your suffering, fill me entirely with the glory which You have won. Finally, let me enter into the glory in which You live with the Father and the Holy Spirit for all eternity.

Blaise Pascal

To let Mr. Nixon know that someone loved him.

After President Nixon resigned in disgrace, he retreated to his San Clemente compound to live in virtual isolation. Because politicians did not want to sully their own reputations by being seen with him, Nixon had few visitors at first. One exception was Mark Hatfield, an outspoken Christian who often opposed Nixon in the U.S. Senate. Chuck Colson asked why the risked he trips to San Clemente. “To let Mr. Nixon know that someone loved him,” Senator Mark Hatfield replied.

When through fiery trials.....

“When through fiery trials thy pathways shall lie,

My grace, all sufficient, shall be thy supply;

The flame shall not hurt thee; I only design

Thy dross to consume, and thy gold to refine.”

Check out this "Evian Roller Babies" commercial (international version) on Youtube. Hilarious! Proverbs 17:22, "A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones."

To be boldly profligate

“What a delightful thing it is to be boldly profligate, to ignore the price of coffee and go on serving the long line of destituted men who come to us, good coffee and the finest of bread.” Dorothy Day
