Remaining sin is always a result of our affections- our hearts’ most enjoyed-beauties and most committed-loves- being set on saviors other than Christ. These things bind the heart into service. Change happens not as we attain greater favor with God so much as when we rejoice in our favor with God so false saviors lose their power, necessity, attractiveness.
